The countryside around Pickering is criss-crossed with hundreds of miles of footpaths and bridleways offering up unlimited options for exploration either on foot or by bike, taking in dramatic moorland vistas, woodland trails or coastal tracks.

Visit the busy Victorian boomtown of Scarborough, Whitby’s beautiful harbour and gothic abbey, the surfing beaches at Cayton Bay and Sandsend, or the charming narrow streets of smuggling town Robin Hood’s Bay.
Dalby Forest is home to green, blue, red and black-graded mountain bike trails in addition to Go Ape high ropes and Segway forest tours. With 13 walking trail, six cycling trails and four running trails, this Great Yorkshire Forest ticks all the boxes for either a full day of family fun or a high speed mountain-biking blast with like-minded friends.
Take on the aqua park, 250m zipline or the huge variety of watercraft at the North Yorkshire Water Park. Or for a more sedate trip hire a kayak to travel down the beautiful River Esk. Whatever adventure you chose, you’ll be guaranteed a good night’s sleep when you return to your accommodation in preparation for another day’s exploration.
