The Pickering area offers all kinds of fun for the outdoor adventurer and the adrenaline junkie alike. There’s a vast array of options, whether you like to zoom downhill on two wheels, look at the world below as you climb among the trees or get wet and wild with water sport fun.
Dalby Forest is home to mountain bike trails of all grades so it’s perfect for everything from exploring as a family to highly technical riding. There are also high ropes courses for adults and kids, as well as Segway forest tours, paintballing, archery and orienteering.
The whole region surrounding Pickering is criss-crossed with hundreds of miles of footpaths and bridleways so it’s a brilliant place to explore on foot, by bike and on horseback. There are great options if you’re into water sports, with inflatable fun, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, rowing, wakeboarding, open water swimming and more. And, of course, with the beautiful Yorkshire coast a short drive away, there’s some of the best surfing around at Cayton Bay and Sandsend.
