Be sure to stop off at Hutton-le-Hole where sheep wander free through the village by the stream – a great spot to paddle and indulge in ice-cream on a lazy, sunny day.
Visit the open-air, Ryedale Folk Museum, popular with children and adults alike. Set in six acres, over 20 historic buildings have been relocated here including an atmospheric Roundhouse and a stunning thatched Manor House.
Young History buffs will love it here but there’s also rare breed pigs, sheep and chickens to tend for any budding young farmers.
Look out for the miniature village too.
