The Old Weigh is a zero waste refill shop. It reminds customers of the corner shops of the past, weighing out just what you need but we’re also looking to the future, by reducing the use of single-use plastic.
We have a wide selection of food produce including flour, sugar, cereal, dried fruit, nuts, pulses, herbs and spices, as well as a dedicated gluten free section. The shop also boasts a variety of locally sourced food and drink including Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil, Rafi’s spice kits, over 15 loose leaf teas and coffees, honey and jams. We stock a range of eco-friendly household products, (also available on refill, saving money and reducing plastic waste) and toiletries, such as Faith in Nature and Annwyn Botanicals which are ideal for gifts.
Most of the time we have a Recipe of the Week on offer where all the dry ingredients are weighed out ready for you in a pack, along with the recipe, for you to bake at home with a few of your store cupboard ingredients. Christmas cake packs are also available.

The Old Weigh - Zero Waste is located at the bottom of Pickering Market Place within the same building as Beckside Gifts and is open from Monday to Saturday, 8.30am to 4.00pm and closed on Wednesdays.
