Pickering’s must see and do

It’s wartime in Pickering, the year is 1943, and sweets and treats are still to be rationed for years to come. 300 local children find themselves lucky enough to be invited to a party at The Memorial Hall on Christmas Eve.

There are hundreds of things to see and do in and around Pickering. A stay in Pickering opens up an almost limitless array of opportunities to entertain, whether you’re travelling alone, with your better half, the kids or with friends.

A new jewel to Pickering’s crown is the Pickering Community Park which can be found up at Woodlands Park on the edge of Pickering on the Whitby Road.

Sitting prominently, overlooking the town with breath-taking views of the Vale of Pickering, stands Pickering Castle.  As one of the treasures of English Heritage, the original structure was built by the Normans under William the Conqueror.
